The local history
project including local researcher, Michael Webb’s detailed
study of 2 famous past residents of Hanwood will be on display in
the church extension. Also we have recently been given a Victorian
copy of Hanwood Parish register 1559-1763 and copies of the registers
from Westbury, Pontesbury and St Chads, Shrewsbury. The Millennium
Photographic Project will also be on display.

In
November 2005, in the Church Extension, the Local History Project
and the Millennium Photographic projects were available for residents
to read/see. As always it proved very popular with some residents
spending more time than they intended looking through all the history
files and looking through volumes of village photographs from the
year 2000. One resident even went home for lunch before returning
to continue their perusals.
In
April 2006 we will again be putting both projects on display, probably
in the Church Extension again so keep an eye on local press for
details or check the Hanwood & Cruckton Herald website.
If you live in one of the older properties then why not write down
everything you know about your house and who has lived in it and
send it in to be included in the Houses section of the History Project
(don’t forget to include photographs).
